I remember now what I wanted to say in the Batman post...people who experience tragedy, in the real world, either curl up in a sobbing ball or get horribly depressed or move on. The real Bruce Wayne would have done drugs and alcohol and therapy before committing suicide. The idea of revenge or justice or anything would never have entered his head. We watch tragic things happen and do nothing. Some of us cope and allow the horror to make us strong. Some become martyrs and use the past as a shield to avoid the future.
I do believe things happen for a reason. But in our society we are doing our best to nullify those reasons. Strenght comes from adversity, but only if you face up to things instead of running.
